outpatient psychiatry services

Helping children build the skills they need to grow, flourish, and thrive.

Our Outpatient Therapy department offers comprehensive, personalized treatment approaches tailored to meet the needs of children and young adults facing behavioral and emotional challenges.

Every Child is Unique. So is Our Approach.

Our compassionate clinical team takes a person-centered and strengths-based approach to treatment, integrating a variety of therapeutic modalities and strategies that address the diverse psychological needs of children throughout Bucks County.

Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT):

ACT involves learning to accept negative or unwanted thoughts. Your child is taught mindfulness skills and acceptance strategies with the goal of increasing flexibility and distress tolerance. This approach is particularly effective for people who deal with intrusive thoughts or catastrophic thinking.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT):

Treatment is centered around how thoughts and beliefs influence actions and moods. CBT shows your child how to identify and eliminate harmful patterns and beliefs that negatively impact them as well as replace self-criticizing thoughts with a more compassionate, constructive self-talk.

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT):

DBT incorporates mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, and emotional regulation through talk therapy in an individual setting. This approach is used to address borderline personality disorder, eating disorders, or depression.

Play Therapy:

Play therapy is an evidence-based approach for children that allows them to find ways to express and process their emotions as well as the world around them. During play, children are driven to meet the essential need of exploring and developing their sense of self and releasing strong emotions.

Person-Centered Therapy:

This technique aims to help your child develop self-awareness, independence and resiliency through strategies that increase self-esteem, bolster coping mechanisms, and foster connections. Our therapists provide empathy and unconditional positive regard to help  facilitate change and personal growth.

Helping little hearts navigate big feelings

Our outpatient services provides a supportive environment that enables your child to discover new and more adaptive ways of thinking, feeling and behaving using treatment that is designed specifically for their individual needs.

Medication Management

Our certified psychiatrists provide medication management and evaluations in conjunction with our other service levels when needed. Our comprehensive medication management can help stabilize symptoms, monitor potential side-effects and control behaviors that may interfere with your child’s ability to benefit from their therapeutic services.

Telehealth Services

Our telehealth services enable children to receive quality outpatient therapy, wherever they might be! Similar to in-person sessions, their clinician will provide your child with the most effective techniques to help encourage positive behavior growth and skills needed to thrive, as well as teach strategies you can reinforce with your children outside of therapy hours.
